About this manufacturer

The factory is fully owned by Jane Brighty and Marion Smith. It is located just outside Lisbon in Portugal. Our speciality of creating and recreating from old, classic trims of the very highest quality is well known within the design industry. Our reputation for fast delivery of the highest quality product is second to none (sometimes as short as 10 days but normally not more than 4 weeks). We maintain a large archive of designs but are also proud of our unique and contemporary designs. We have created 6 stock collections for immediate delivery by UPS. Our stock collections are of the same high quality as our custom product with a choice of 54 superb colours as well as options to substitute details between the stock colours and ranges. Over the past 18 years we have successfully completed a large number extremely prestigious projects involving re-making original fringes and tassels from several centuries ago. Windsor Castle restoration after the fire, Longleat, Regensberg Castle (The Turn und Taxis family) , No. 10 Downing St residence of the British Prime Minister, Buckingham Palace, US Supreme Court, the Warner Theatre, Disney France to mention a few. However, we not only make for castles and palaces we also produce beautiful items for private homes.A staff of 30 skilled artist/artisans create the very highest quality trimmings. An apprentice starts at the age of 16 and undergoes training for several years. Those who show talent and ability are encouraged to move into specialized areas such as handweaving, tassel making and fringe making. The vast majority of our work is woven by hand. We believe that that the modern machine made product cannot compare for quality. Those items not made completely by hand are made on classic looms. We still use handlooms identical to those illustrated in the Diderot Encycloepedia of 1790 as well as some early Jaquard looms from the 1920's. We are proud of our product and also of the employees who make it. We believe we have some of the best handweavers in the field of passementerie in the world. Thanks to their years of experience, artistry and sense of perfection, we are confident that none of our competitors can produce the same product at the same price with the same level of service and flexibility. We hope you will give us the opportunity to show you what we can do.
