Description

For the Mosaic Collection David developed a new hand printing method as a hybrid between screening and stenciling. A heavy acrylic/clay composite is applied in multiple tones to indicate the 'tesserae' or individual chips found in traditional mosaic work. When dry, a layer of stain is applied over the surface to provide an aged effect. Motifs are based on a variety of ancient cultural styles. Byzantine heightens the drama of any room with inclusions of metallic leaf, true to the Byzantine style.
