The rectangular top centered by an oval sunburst sided by stringing and surrounded by a wide plain radiating band and cross, the corners with sharply contrasting foliate marquetry of a floral spray and crested birds (possibly jaybirds), over a case with two short and three long graduated drawers, each with oval panels of marquetry, the first and third rows with foliate marquetry, the second and fourth with floral marquetry beneath a bird in flight, raised on bun feet. Walnut, harewood & mixed woods. England, c1685. Note: See British Antique Furniture, John Andrews, 2006 Edition, p 182, Pl. 328 for similar example.
